4 out of 5 stars PURE - Nice NOT Dim   November 19, 2008
Mr. S. Robbins (UK)
Very pleasant piece of kit. I was concerned by the reviews which indicated the display to be dim / illegible.

As a 50 yr old Varifocal user I found the display perfectly balanced for bedside use.

1 out of 5 stars Rubbish aerial   November 8, 2008

I was getting poor FM reception in my bedroom and wanted a dab radio with a sleep function. I tried out my Roberts dab radio there and the reception was brilliant (alas it doesn't have sleep). Thought the Siesta was the answer - it has just arrived, but on setting it up I find it gets NO Dab signal. The aerial is a flimsy little wire thing. I have tried walking around with it and even tried down the garden, but not a pip. Do not buy this radio unless you are in prime signal area.

2 out of 5 stars Great Radio / Alarm / Clock but Display too Small + Dim at night   October 26, 2008
The Radio Vosht (Manchester, UK)
This is a lovely clock radio alarm which works really well. But we found the display invisible at night (not just dim) and the clock characters are far to small to read from the other end of the bed room (approx 8-9ft).

Would work really well if you have it on a bed side table adjacent to your head.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing display and reception   October 24, 2008

Already own a Pure Elan DAB radio which is great, but this is disappointing. Display is almost illegible and so is sensitivity. A local DAB station that my Elan tunes to is often not found. If you have set this as the alarm then you oversleep! I've returned it.

4 out of 5 stars A most impressive DAB alarm clock   October 21, 2008
Mr. Struan Hellier
This is an outstanding piece of equipment with excellent sound, impressive functions and good looks. I have never been happy with digital alarm clocks in the past simply because they are almost always too bright. This one is perfect.

One caveat for those, like me, who fall asleep to the radio with headphones in to avoid waking a partner. The alarm sounds only through the headphones, so you have to remember to unplug them or risk not waking up. Obviously this will not be of concern to most prospective buyers, but it does mean that I use my mobile phone as an alarm clock, which somewhat defeats the point.
