This charger allows you to keep your iPod or iPhone powered on journeys in the car. To use you plug the charger into the cigarette lighter of your vehicle. Then plug the usb end of the included cable into the usb socket on the charger. Then simply plug the apple dock end of the cable into your iPod or iPhone. The charger can also be used to power any usb powered device (mp3 players, PDA's, and cameras) with the appropriate usb cable. We also sell the charger without the dock cable on a cheaper listing on amazon. It has a built in fuse to prevent any damage to the connected device. This charger sits perfectly in a car cigarette lighter and charges iphones and ipods. It has a light that tells you it's charging. Yes, you can find cheaper but in my experience they either don't sit firmly in the lighter slot and so the contact is iffy. This looks and feels like a solid unit. This is quality item that works and will last - which you cannot say about the cheaper versions. The choice is yours - pay less and have to replace when it goes wrong, or pay a little more (it's not exactly a fortune it is?) and get a quality product that works.
Tested with ipod Classic and iphone 3GS - both work as promised.
There is an instruction sheet - although if you need instructions on how this works, I'm not sure you should be in charge of a car!
Plus, I've had such fantastic service from this seller in the past, I will always source from them if they are selling an item I'm looking at (they once dispatched an item to me on Christmas day!).

Works well but somtimes takes time to connect to the iPhone. There is an additional piece of paper to tell you how to use it but the gadget sometimes takes 10 mins of messing with it to work.

I have tried several car chargers since I got my iPhone - and most of them were problematic or simply packed up after several uses. This one however has been brilliant, works perfectly and doesn't get hot at all. I am VERY impressed, and VERY pleased that finally I found a car charger for my iPhone that really works, and works well. 5 Star item.
