1 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing, waste of money   June 7, 2010

I've had numerous in-ear headphones or earphones since the first .mp3 players came out and these are not only the most expensive, they're the worst by far. Virtually zero bass, even with bass boost enabled on my iTouch 64GB. Mid range and treble sounds oddly distorted, too - a sort of unpleasant phasey effect.

I reverted to older earphones, cheap JVC or the previously purchased ones from Amazon, Sennheiser with mike and switch. Can't adjust the volume with these unlike the Apple ones but you can click to pause, hold to enable voice control, double click for next track, triple click for previous.

Forget the Apple branded ones - like Don Henley says 'Packaging is all there really is".

5 out of 5 stars Superb   May 27, 2010

I bought these headphones for my iPod Touch (2nd Gen) and they're simply superb. I used to have the Sennheiser CX300 in ear headphones, which I found a bit too bassy. These are as comfortable, but give a much more rounded sound. I find them quite comfortable, and having the remote controls is very useful. One of the added benefits of these in-ear headphones is the screw off camps (it also comes with a spare set). If they get bunged up with ear wax, they can be easily cleaned (the instructions recommend popping the caps in a glass of hot water for half an hour -- I've yet to need to do this).

Highly recommended, excellent high quality sound.

3 out of 5 stars Functionality - yes, durability - no, price - NO!   May 4, 2010

There is only three pairs of ear buds and non of them fits me very well, but I manage.
The sound is fine to my usual/casual ear and the microphone causes no complaints. I love the remote, it does all I need it to do, although three dedicated buttons would work better in this product. Apple obsession with removing buttons is beyond my understanding.
The cable seems thick and durable, but after just two months of usage I lost sound from one earphone and with no visible damage I got a replacement. However, now even though I was extra cautious having problems with previous pair, I start to hear some noise and scratching and again I think the cable is to blame and there is no visible tear or wear.
Sadly there is no alternative with microphone and fully functional remote that I know off. I feel the price is a bit on expensive side for all the trouble.

5 out of 5 stars Apple in-ear headphones   March 25, 2010

Excellent product. The design, bass and sound are brilliant. Why don't Apple supply these as standard? The ones I received with the iPod just fell out. I researched alternatives but these are the best.

5 out of 5 stars Boom boom base   March 5, 2010

The Apple in ear headphones are a major improvement to the standard pair, which comes supplied with the iPhone. Clarity, depth of base, imaging are all great. So good I can hear the poor quality of some my mp3 downloaded songs (not good tut tut tut). Blocks out outside noise which is very good for me, so that there is no need for me to play my music at ridiculous volumes.
