Great Buy! January 6, 2009 Mrs. H. M. Camp If you are considering a docking station for your ipod classic, look no further than the Klipsch igroove. I read all the reviews that endorsed this product over the Bose, which I was prepared to pay over 200 for, when I came across this bargain. I took the plunge and it arrived well packaged, and clearly a quality product once unpacked. Even before I turned it on I was pleased with the look and style, then the sound, superb for the money and easily equal to a Bose. My Dad has a Bose and I know my igroove is as good, if not better. At less than 90 I am absolutley quids in and have a better docking station, take it from me this is quality!
Sleek, solid, great sound - but won't charge 2G iPod Touch January 6, 2009 Darren Towers (Camberley, UK) Did plenty of research on speakers for my original iPod nano and settled on these ones - over 200 customer reviews at that point with an average of 5 stars... not bad! I wasn't disappointed either. These are heavy/solid, sleek and stylish speakers - they look great but they sound even better. It's a rich, deep sound from these ones and, although you can't adjust the sound quality (it's just volume up or down), they are perfect for the living room and portable enough to take away (we took them to a cottage we'd rented for New Year and they served us well - quiet dinner parties, rowdy party music and late night chilling all covered brilliantly). The only downside for me is that I've just changed to an iPod Touch which these speakers won't charge - for other iPods, you can play quality music and charge the iPod at the same time. Nevertheless, the quality makes up for this niggling lack of functionality. Well worth the investment.
Great but doesn't charge latest gen ipod January 6, 2009 J. Craig (Harrogate) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you are looking for great sound quality and not bothered about bells and whistles this is a superb piece of kit. For the money it is a steal. However, niggles include not being able to charge up my new nano whilst docked and also the remote control is limited to volume and skipping tracks. One final positive is that it looks the business!!!!
Good but flawed January 5, 2009 Mr. P. M. Joel (London) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Nice looking unit, good sound (very good for the price, actually). Supports my iPhone 3G. But let down on three points; 1, Does not charge the iPhone ("charging is not supported by this accessory" displayed on the phone). 2, The remote control is tempremental - sometimes working from a long way away at a weird angle, sometimes have to almost poke the iPhone/iPod with it! 3, Remote only controls play/pause, next/previous track, on/off and volume. If you want to change albums etc. you need to control the iPhone yourself. On balance, point three is not too bad considering the relative cost of the unit. It doesn't bother me greatly as I always listen to the thing on shuffle anyway. For the money - the sound quality is great and the unit performs adequately. However, the lack of charging is a real detractor for this unit - hence 3 stars.
You'll like it January 3, 2009 I. McLachlan (Cornwall) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a lovely little unit. It looks classy and sounds amazing for something so compact. I use an ipod Classic which fits neatly, re-charges and looks as if it belongs. Some reviews say the remote is not all singing and dancing, but I'm happy to walk over to the unit and make adjustments! You can move through tracks etc with the remote, do the volume, pause etc. For a fuss-free docking station which easily transfers from room to room, sounds full, rich and clear, looks great and costs two thirds of the price of its nearest rival this is the one. But don't tell your hi-fi friends it was less than 80! They'll wonder where you discovered Klipsch...
