2 out of 5 stars Not up to usual standards   June 29, 2010
Mr. S. Greenhalgh (Derbyshire, UK)
I've had a few griffin iphone and ipod car transmitters in my time and they've all worked really well apart from this one. All other units held a frequency really well with no interference whatsoever. I bought this unit so I could position my phone on a dashboard cradle, but the frequency had a huge amount of interference on the same frequency that the griffin roadtrip worked fine with in the same areas.
I ended up sending this back for a full refund and bought the belkin unit instead, which I'm reasonably happy with. It is a significant improvement on this iTrip unit, but the signal from the RoadTrip was better.

2 out of 5 stars Some problems...   June 20, 2010

Using it with my iphone 3gs, its "intelligent" volume level seems not to be able to make its mind up. every now and again the volume level will dip and recover over a few seconds.

Also the smartscan feature seems to consistently select frequencies with stations already on, rather than clear frequencies. i prefer to manually select though.

Anyone else have these problems? or is mine dodgy?

Great product, handy gadget but crackling Which is made obvious between tracks or quiet parts of the tune is proper annoying. Still better than CDs by a long shot. Reccomeneded buy.

4 out of 5 stars Not cheap - but good.   April 10, 2010

I had a cheap charger/FM Transmitter/mount and also a cheap car charger.
Both suffered the same problem that they came apart leaving bits in the socket (once causing the car's fuse to blow.
The Griffin is ideal as my charger is down at the base of the gear stick but I need a Window mount for my SatNav.
The Griffin has performed flawlessly, occasionally needing to find a new channel will driving into different areas.

This item arrived very promptly .It is easy to set up and easy to change channels if you get any interference etc. And the fact that i now dont have to listen to radio 1 or Chris Evans on radio 2 means it was worth the money i paid .
