5 out of 5 stars great quality   January 1, 2009
burtie (devon, uk)
I brought this system to go in the kitchen with my ipod.I looked around for a bit and yes bose probably are the best but for far more money.I got it for 60quid and ive been really pleased with it.The sound is very good and clear and the bass excellent. It is quite suprising when you turn it right up the amount of noise that comes out such a small system. It also has a built in radio and a neat little remote that both work well.To get all this for 60quid or less is a bargain.Definately purchase if your looking for a good all round system without paying silly money.

4 out of 5 stars Great Value Annoying Buzz   January 1, 2009

I received the Gear4 Housparty4 for Christmas. Overall I'm very pleased with it, the sound quality is excellent for the price. I only have to gripes:
1. the equaliser resets to off every time i turn the power off, which means having to put it back to something decent each time.
2. I don't know if anyone else gets a high pitch buzz through the speakers when using the ipod? Mine does. It's drowned out at medium-high vol, but is audible at quieter settings.

Overall recommended if you're not going to invest in a Bose or Klipsh.

Just received this item, on the recommendation of the two previous reviews. What value for money, it sounds good, definately not tinny, equaliser, fm radio and a remote all for 45 brill! I've decided to use it as a portable instead of home stereo, even though its slightly bulky the sound is good, i had purchased another one for 100 but i think this is definately good value. My only gripe is that the cables not long enough! Go on give it a try.

I bought this for the kitchen and I cannot fault it for 45!! It is not BOSE but for 250 less it is a great buy. The remote works well, for the best sound I fiddled with the Ipod settings before the Gear4 equaliser. More than loud enough, plus I am told my Iphone will also fit it!

We bought this as a present for our 14 year old daughter. She thinks it's brilliant! The detachable speaker is very useful and does not need batteries - although you loose a lot of the bass when you detach it from the back. Definatley worth having
