Belkin Headphone Remote Control for iPod Shuffle July 29, 2010 minlibuk This arrived promptly and in good condition. Very good price, and does what it says. I can now wear my own headphones and still control the iPod Shuffle. Highly recommended.
Good, whilst it lasts... July 29, 2010 M. Webster (London) In terms of funcationality, this is a good product, allowing you to use standard headphones with your ipod shuffle, whilst maintaining the essential in-line remote control functions. When it works, it is great. Unfortunately, build quality is poor from my experience (and from reading other reviews it seems). My remote would stop working correctly and I found this to be becaue of errosion to the first band on on the mini-jack, presumably where the remote signals are sent into the ipod itself. An occasional clean of the mini jack connector sorted this, but now the volume increase button has ceased to work, preventing me from being able to increase the volume of any song that is playing - kind of defeats the purpose of having the remote. It's a shame, as it could have been a neat solution to the annoying design that Apple has imposed on shuffle users.
I bought the product in April but wouldn't say it has had an unreasonable amount of usage in that time so my conclusion has to be that reliability is poor for this product.
PLEASE CONSIDER ALTERNATIVES, OR JUST AVOID July 16, 2010 Chevaro (Cambridge, UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
From the outset i've had problems. As soon as it was all connected up the Shuffle got a mind of its own. Any movement of the cables causes tracks to skip or volume to adjust. I'm a keen runner and gym user but i'm sure there will be more problems if I replace this adaptor. May just have to use the original headphones in the gym and my other MP3 player for running.
For those of you who may want to consider an alternative then please look at the Creative Zen Stone Plus. I've had mine for years and its never messed up even after many a trip around the washing machine.

Just the ticket June 28, 2010 Peter Gibb (Milton Keynes, UK) This little add-on is perfect for letting you use your headphones of choice with your iPod Shuffle. Beautifully simple and nicely made. I've been using mine for around a month now and am thoroughly satisfied. Like some others, I didn't think about how I'd work the shuffle when I bought it, but I think in honesty that's my own fault and not a design mistake. Quite the opposite, it's a deliberate part of the design to make the player so tiny. And it works. If however you do want to use your own earphones rather than the included Apple ones, this little device bridges that gap nicely.

I risked buying one of these to use with an iTouch. It works fine with it.
All functions vol+- pause play skip work.
Been using it for a couple of weeks now and it hasn't broken yet.
