I was a little worried when I bought the Apple Nike and iPod Sport Kit, that I wouldn't be able to use it due to the lack of specifically designed trainers.
After a lot of digging, and reading through countless reviews for various "alternative" solutions, I settled on the Marware Sportsuit Sensor + Case for Nike + iPod Sport Kit.
The case itself does exactly what you'd expect, holding the Nike+ unit safely & securely inside it. The simple design requires that you loop the case through the laces of your shoes, locking it into place with Velcro.
I found that the case fit snugly in place, and prevented the Nike+ unit from moving around. This is a requirement for the unit, and ensures accurate readings while in use.
If you're looking for an "alternative" solution for using the Nike+ with any trainer, then I highly recommend the Marware Sportsuit Sensor + Case for Nike + iPod Sport Kit.

I chose this product as it had many more good reviews than its rivals and I cannot say it has let me down. The most appealing advantage being that the casing makes it waterproof which is very handy! Not easy to take on and off your shoe, I find I have to really loosen my laces, but as its not actually threaded through the laces, still much simpler than rivals.

In brief this is a fantastic product for us none Nike Trainer users, Asics are way better but anyway! I am impressed with how light the product is, how easy it is to add to your trainer & it does not distract you whilst running. The info from my Nike Sensor is no way effected and no damage has occurred to it thus far (after 60 odd miles) Highly recommended.

I had just bought some new asics runners when I decided I wanted to start using the Nike + iPod system. But didn't want to buy another pair of trainers. I wasn't sure the sensor would actually work properly, but this little case is perfect. i run abt 18 miles a week and it doesn't move and it syncs perfectly with the sensor.

Considering I'm a normal human-being who doesn't get sucked into things, I didn't want to buy Nike running shoes just so I could use my sports band, so I bought this instead to use with my Ascis.
It's brilliant! A nice tight snug fit, wraps around the laces easily in a secure fashion and keeps the sensor flat so it responds to the sports band well.
This item is a must.
